4th of July Weekend… Be Safe, it’s a Long Weekend :)

by bwardell on July 1, 2011

This is one of those years you need to be Safe over the forth of July weekend, because it started yesterday and for most other folks it starts today and goes until… Monday night, Tuesday morning or in some cases the rest of the week is spent on family vacations our outings lasting at least 4-7 days!!

So, PLEASE be careful… and, what should be on top of your list of concerns?

Home Safety, and upper level floors, with screened in windows!
Fire Safety – Children and Fireworks
Food preparation & storage, food poisoning, and be sure to wash hands!
Travel safety – no TEXTING while driving, watching out for other (car accidents) motorist, Drunk Drivers, etc…
    Rest Stop & Campgrounds Safety
    Children and stranger danger!!
Swimming Pool and wading pools, reservoirs, water tributaries, canals, high flood streams, creeks and rivers…
Summer Sun, and keeping hydrated daily!
Bug bites, Misquotes, ticks, piousness plants, etc…
Pedestrian walkways, bicycles, skate boards, rollerblading, etc…
Motorcycles and ATV’s or any motorized activities!

The list could go on and on… which I have done sort of intentionally, to get the point across… that life is very unpredictable and you need to prepare the best you can, and watch for the clues that you need to make adjustments quickly to your daily routines! Especially during all the summer holidays and family summer vacations!!!

So, remember: Learn IT, DO IT, Teach IT, Share IT, BE IT  this is our CHW Partners motto and ‘HOOD’ mantra to all parents and families!

And as a side note , the holiday Fireworks started in our neighborhood last night, so that means we are already on alert :)

Tell a Friend

So summer safety should never be taken for granted or looked at casually, make these tasks and safeguards part of your families summer to do list :)

Learn IT, DO IT, Teach IT, Share IT, BE IT
