DO You know what this Adam Walsh Act is??

Provided by: Wikipedia

The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act (Pub.L. 109-248) is a piece of legislation signed into law by U.S. President George W. Bush on July 27, 2006. The Walsh Act organizes sex offenders into three tiers and mandates that Tier 3 offenders (the most serious tier) update their whereabouts every three months with lifetime registration requirements. Tier 2 offenders must update their whereabouts every six months with 25 years of registration, and Tier 1 offenders (which includes minors as young as 14 years of age) must update their whereabouts every year with 15 years of registration. Failure to register and update information is a felony under the law. It also creates a national sex offender registry and instructs each state and territory to apply identical criteria for posting offender data on the Internet (i.e., offender’s name, address, date of birth, place of employment, photograph, etc.)[1]

The act was named for Adam Walsh, an American boy who was abducted from a Florida Mall and later found murdered.

As we kickoff 2010 year on we had no idea how powerful the show was going to be with our guest Derek VanLuchene, but we learned very quickly Derek is very committed to his organization and those who he helps, everyday!!

As we passed the CHW Magic Wand to Derek… he said seeing the Adam Walsh Act & law become implemented by every state in the nation would be his wish… earlier in the show Derek has shared with Dave and I that only the state Ohio has passed this into effect and is complaint to 2006 ruling that stated every state would have this Adam Walsh Act & law on the books by and in effect in April 2009…

Now the question arises, why was this not DONE!!! and the other 49 states are not COMPLIANT Please help this cause and send letters to your stated and local governments including your senators and congressman… click here for a list your state: Your Elected Leaders!

Dave and Bill Interview with Derek VanLuchene who is the President of the Ryan United Organization – Derek has a unique perspective as a family member of the victim and also a law enforcement officer involved in the fight against child predators.

Over 22 years a on August 31, 1987, while playing in his back yard in a rural Montana town, 8 year old Ryan VanLuchene was kidnapped, sexually assaulted and murdered by a repeat sex offender. The offender who murdered Ryan had been out of prison just a few weeks for a past sexual assault against a 13 year old boy.

When Ryan went missing the community of Libby, Montana came together to look for Ryan. Thanks to the community, and the excellent work of a Sheriffs detective, Ryans body was recovered and the offender was arrested.

And if today was an example of his level of knowledge and commitment, those people who will be helped by him and his organization now and in the future, are going to be extremely well protected looked after and given the proper resources that are available to help them…
