As a defense attorney he is running into problems with clients who are stopped for one thing and then turn their cell phones over to the police. Sure enough, sexually explicit pictures changed hands, and my client is holding the hot potato. The law is trying to catch up with sexting and in some cases people are finding themselves being sent what constitutes child pornography. As this is primarily a teenager/young adult problem police departments are running into a unique problem with their recruits. Recruits are having problems with the lie detector tests and background investigations, as both males and females recruits are confronted with the fact that their youthful fun time with cell phones may be a violation of law.

Joe Gutheinz is licensed to practice in ten courts, including the Texas Supreme Court; the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th, 10th and 11th Circuits; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; and the United States Supreme Court. He is a Commissioned Member of the Texas State Council on Sex Offender Treatment and a Former Member of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Advisory Committee on Offenders with Medical and Mental Impairments. As a college instructor, he has taught over 150 graduate and undergraduate Criminal Justice, Risk Management and Para Legal classes for three colleges.

He has served as a consultant on aviation and space related cases.

He is a retired Senior Special Agent with NASA’s Office of Inspector General and a former Special Agent with both the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General and F.A.A. Civil Aviation Security. He is a former Army Intelligence Officer and Aviator. For his service, he has received the President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency Career Achievement Award, the NASA Exceptional Service Medal, and a Special Commendation from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas.

He is a past top graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s Criminal Investigator’s Course, holds six college degrees and eight teaching credentials, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Special notes: We hope to have Joe back on the CHWR show real soon to share about the moon rocks, he was contacted by a newspaper in the nation of Cyprus. A scandal involving the Cyprus Goodwill Moon Rock, worth 5 million dollars, is about to break. Short story long. In 1973 and 1974 when the Nixon Administration sent over an Apollo Goodwill Moon Rock to be presented to Cyprus that country was in the midst of riots and terrorist attacks, which left our Ambassador to that country dead. An American kept the Cyprus Goodwill Moon Rock, which both countries believed had been given to Cyprus and either lost or destroyed.
